Naturally Devon

Get in touch with your wild side and search out some of the many green events happening all year round in Devon. From nature trails to festivals, there is plenty to lure you into our great outdoors.

If you want to see more of nature, look for fungi forays and rock pool rambles, bird watching cruises and badger watches, bat hunts and wild flower walks. Walk with Ivybridge's Walking Festival - anything from easy town routes to long distance rambles.

Beer festivals, celebrations of the English apple, farmers' markets and food festivals at Exeter, Tavistock and Dartmouth give ample opportunities to sample many of Devon's delicious products. And you'll find local food much in evidence too at the many local fairs - ram roasts a speciality!

Go wild and wet? Go see championship for surf rowers, junior surfers and wave sailing. The Goldcoast Oceanfest boasts world-class athletes competing at surfing, paddle racing and mountain bike trials, and live music to set it all off.

More traditionally, the North Devon Festival celebrates the rich and diverse cultural life of the region, and Axmouth village show rejoices in local crafts and traditions.

Many are accessible by bus, train, bike or on foot allowing you to explore without the use of your car. For more information on public transport, please contact Traveline on 0870 608 2 608 or visit their website at www.traveline.org.uk.
